| Dear readers of the German-Saudi business community,
GESALO is excited to see the growing interest of German companies in the Saudi market. More than 70 German companies exhibited during the Big 5 Trade Fair in Riyadh. High participation from the German side was also seen during the LEAP roundtable at the GESALO office organized the evening before the start of the trade fair.
Strong cooperation continues in the Energy sector with a visit of six German companies and a symposium on energy grids. The newsletter gives an insight into further cooperation opportunities in the upcoming months, e.g. in the mining sector or upcoming trade fairs.

Under the auspicious of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), GESALO organized together with Renac the Exportinitiative Energy, Energy Solutions Made in Germany. Six German companies visited Riyadh in March 2024 with the focus on energy grids and island grids.
The companies had high-level business meetings with government entities and private sector companies from the Saudi electricity sector including the Ministry of Energy (MOE), Principal Buyer | Saudi Power Procurement Company, Saudi Electricity Company, ACWA Power, EVIQ, KAPSARC, Red Sea Global and Ajlan & Bros Holding. Moreover, on March 6, 2024, GESALO hosted a German Saudi Symposium on Energy grids with welcome words from H.E. the German Ambassador, Michael Kindsgrab and Delegate Dr. Dalia Samra-Rohte.

GESALO and Rödl & Partner you to the webinar "Managers’ duties and liabilities under the KSA law" on March 26.
The KSA legislation has set out general and specific duties and obligations that managers and directors should be aware of to avoid any violation. These duties and liabilities may be of civil nature or criminal nature. Considering various penalties in case managers and directors’ violation of applicable laws or breach of contract, the webinar will give an overview of illustrates the duties and obligations of managers, as well as the possible penalties, as per the current KSA laws and regulations.

In February, the 12th edition of BIG5 took place in Riyadh. Under the motto "Connecting the construction industry in Saudi Arabia", the goal is to unite 55,000+ industry players, government stakeholders, and active buyers, all contributing to the advancement of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals.

The Who-is-Who of the construction industry met in Riyadh. Nearly 70 German Companies were represented at Saudi Arabia's largest construction event.

Afnan Ababtain, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Expert, Abdulmajeed Alanazi, Business Development Manager, and Yara Ghouth, Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Ministry of Investment (MISA) gave a overview about Saudi #entrepreneurship ecosystem and the investment opportunities and targeted sectors in Saudi Arabia. In conclusion the experts described the process on how to set-up a business in Saudi Arabia throughout MISA entrepreneurship license.
