Dear readers of the German-Saudi business community,
The year is already in full swing again and the GESALO team is fostering the bilateral business relationship. Building a qualified workforce and retaining employees was a focus topic of the one of the CEO Roundtable in the GESALO office in Riyadh. The German Saudi Symposium on innovation in the valve industry was an excellent platform to receive an insight into the industry. The event was organized on behalf of Messe Düsseldorf for the Valve World Expo together with Asharqia Chamber.

Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence were the focus of the discussion during the GESALO Roundtable on the occasion of the Visit of the Secretary of State H.E. Stefan Schnorr from the German Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport.
Saudi Arabia is a global front-runner in the application of digital technology and AI. German companies based in the Kingdom are participating in the vast developments. Innovative German technologies are applied in the industrial sector, healthcare, energy, or automotive.
After the discussion, the delegation visited together with the German Embassy the SAP premises, a German success story in the field of digitalization and AI.

Held on September 9th, 2024, at the Asharqia Chamber in Dammam, the German-Saudi Symposium marked a significant step forward in strengthening economic and trade relations between Saudi Arabia and Germany. This unique and collaborative event brought together industry leaders to explore opportunities, address challenges, and foster partnerships in the valve industry.
Organized by GESALO in behalf of Valve World Expo and Messe Düsseldorf, and supported by the Asharqia Chamber, the symposium created a pivotal gathering to advance the valve industry's future.
Mr. Abdulrahman Albassam, board member of the Asharqia Chamber, played a key role in organizing the event and fostering bilateral cooperation. His leadership and dedication were instrumental in bringing together industry experts from both nations. Eng. Bandar Alharbi, Vice President for Technical Affairs at the National Water Company, emphasized the critical role of valve technologies in water desalination. Mr. Daniel Ryfisch, representing Messe Düsseldorf, discussed the opportunities presented by the Valve World Expo, one of the world’s leading trade fairs for industrial valves.

At Asia Fruit Logistica 2024, Hadara Dates and Yousef Bin Abdul Latif and Sons Agriculture Co., Ltd. represented Saudi Arabia's growing date industry. Hadara Dates showcased a diverse range of Arabic dates from across the Middle East and North Africa, while Yousef Bin Abdul Latif and Sons emphasized their commitment to organic, high-quality dates from over 2,600 hectares of green farms. The event attracted more than 13,000 trade visitors from 70 countries, featuring 760 exhibitors and 28 national or regional pavilions, including first-time participants from India, Indonesia, Tanzania, and Kyrgyzstan. Both Saudi companies played a key role in promoting their country’s agricultural innovations on the global stage.

Messe Berlin opened its doors in September welcoming the world to the InnoTrans Trade Fair 2024.The world's leading trade fair for transport technology was excited to see Saudi Railway Company in the City Cube 330 and AL-AYUNI Investment and Contracting Company in hall 26b 310 exhibiting.
At InnoTrans 2024, Saudi Arabia showcased its ambitious transportation and infrastructure goals, with prominent participation from Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR), Al-Ayuni Investment and Contracting Company, and BFG International from Bahrain.
