Dear Readers,
Recent high-level visits to Germany underscore the strength of the bilateral economic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Germany. In October, GESALO had the privilege of hosting a roundtable at the renowned K Show in Düsseldorf, together with Messe Düsseldorf, featuring H.E. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, alongside leading German companies from the chemical and plastics industries. The following month, H.E. Fahd bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel, Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, visited Berlin, where GESALO and DIHK jointly organized a roundtable with German industry leaders from the medical sector.
These exchanges highlight the dynamic and growing business relationship, further reinforced by several delegations GESALO is leading to the Kingdom. This month’s focus included opportunities in the food industry as well as the emerging sports sector, driven by upcoming mega events.
Beyond delegation work, GESALO facilitated insightful CEO roundtables with distinguished guests to discuss current economic developments. A particularly memorable occasion was the female executive roundtable with Belgin Rudack, CEO of KfW IPEX-Bank—one of the few female leaders in Germany’s banking industry—who shared her perspectives in an open dialogue.
The season’s highlight was the GESALO Excellence Award, attended by more than 150 participants. The event celebrated outstanding industry leaders whose commitment continues to strengthen ties between both countries.

| The second ever GESALO Excellence Award Gala was celebrated on October 21st 2025 in Riyadh. This event honored outstanding company achievements and the enduring bilateral economic relationship between Saudi Arabia and Germany. The respected leadership of 19 companies and institutions were awarded in four different categories: Sustainability Champion, Innovation Excellence, German-Saudi Business Partnership, and Above and Beyond. GESALO had the privilege of organizing part of the visit of H.E. Fahad bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel, Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to Germany. Following a successful tour of MEDICA in Düsseldorf—Germany’s leading healthcare and healthcare-innovation trade fair—H.E. continued to Berlin, where GESALO hosted a dedicated roundtable with prominent German healthcare companies.
Moderated by our Delegate, Dr. Dalia Samra-Rohte, the discussion highlighted the strong potential for further deepening German–Saudi collaboration in health services, medical technology, digital health, and capacity building. The first International Hydrogen Summit hosted by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) on November 6, 2025in Berlin spotlighted the hydrogen market challenges and emphasized long-term purchase agreements as a catalyst for growth. The first International Hydrogen Summit, brought together global stakeholders to address the current status and future of the hydrogen economy. Held under the theme “Act together. Think global. Move forward with hydrogen,” the summit served as a strategic platform to confront the downturn in the hydrogen industry and explore actionable solutions. Dr. Dalia Samra-Rohte had the pleasure to moderate a panel with high profile experts on long term purchase agreements. |

GESALO, in partnership with SPOBIS, organised a delegation trip to Riyadh aimed at exploring Saudi Arabia’s sports market and at fostering cooperation opportunities from November 3 to 5, 2025. The trip commenced at the GESALO offices, featuring a comprehensive market overview, followed by an insightful briefing on Saudi Arabia’s political and economic framework from a representative of the German Embassy, and concluded with a session on the country’s legal and tax environment presented by a specialist lawyer. The delegation was hosted by the Royal Commission for Riyadh, followed by a highly engaging discussion with the Public Investment Fund (PIF), highlighting the Kingdom’s strategic investments and vision for the sector. The GESALO was also pleased to host a roundtable discussion, where leading experts from the German business community in Saudi Arabia shared their experiences related to the expansion of the Kingdom’s entertainment and sports infrastructure sectors. |

We had a highly inspiring day at the “IHK Trade & Connect” event organized by the IHK Munich for Upper Bavaria. Throughout the event, we engaged in numerous insightful conversations with representatives from companies across a wide range of industries. These included organizations from the healthcare sector, innovative players in IT, well-established and emerging businesses in the automotive field, as well as companies active in construction and related services. The diversity of participants allowed for an enriching exchange of ideas, new perspectives, and potential collaboration opportunities. We were able to discuss industry trends, explore shared challenges, and identify areas where meaningful partnerships could develop. |

GESALO organized a delegation trip to Riyadh focusing on art and museums for six participating renowned German companies. In close consultation with the delegation participants, GESALO developed a training concept specifically tailored to the art and museum sector in Saudi Arabia contributing to the local talent development in this sector. This was presented to key stakeholders during the delegation trip. The group was received at a high level over two days from the following institutions: Qiddiya, Expo 2030 Riyadh, Red Sea Global, the Diriyah Biennale Foundation, the King Fahd National Library, the Saudi Ministry of Culture, the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, and the Royal Commission for AlUla.

In Saudi Arabia, female labour force participation has now reached 37%, exceeding the Vision 2030 target of 30%—a remarkable achievement driven by women who are shaping the future of business and leadership in the Kingdom.

In October GESALO organised a CEO roundtable on the occasion of the visit of H.E. Jochen Flasbarth, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection.
During the roundtable experts from the industry discussed insights on Saudi-Arabia’s efforts in setting up circular economy principles across key sectors to reduce environmental impact and promote resource efficiency.

GESALO collaborated with the Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu (RCJY) – Ras Alkhair City for Mining Industries to host a specialized webinar titled “Unlocking Opportunities in Ras Alkhair.”
