Carsten Schneider began with the inauguration of IFAT Saudi Arabia, a milestone event highlighting the growing importance of climate protection, resource efficiency, and sustainable industrial development amid the Kingdomâs ongoing economic transformation. This momentum was further reflected during a roundtable discussion hosted by GESALO at the German Embassy. German companies from the water, recycling, and related industrial sectors shared insights into the vast potential of the Saudi market during a oneâhour discussion moderated by our Delegate Dr. Dalia Samra-Rohte. |

| In January, the GESALO team had the great honor of organizing the German Pavilion at the Future Minerals Forum (FMF) as part of the foreign trade fair promotion program of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The fifth Future Minerals Forum was held under the motto âDawn for a Global Causeâ. The 10 German companies participating in the pavilion presented their innovations and technologies âMade in Germanyâ to contribute to a sustainable and future-proof mining sector. The event was rounded off by a get-together at the stand with H.E. Michael Kindsgrab, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Saudi Arabia and our Delegate for the German Industry in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Dalia Samra-Rohte. |

GESALO was happy to welcome Mr. Denis Steker, Senior Vice President International at Koelnmesse GmbH und Ms. Ina Karschöldgen, Director of International Hardware Fair Saudi Arabia and FSB Sports Show Riyadh, to our office. A series of discussions organized by the GESALO provided a platform for open and constructive exchange between representatives of the Saudi sports industry and Koelnmesse.

The GESALO team had the honour of hosting German companies exhibiting at the Big 5 Construct Saudi for a market briefing with an in-depth overview of the Saudi construction market and sharing valuable insights into local business practices in the Kingdom. Dr. Dalia Samra-Rohte, Delegate of German Industry and Commerce and our Market Entry Consultant Darius Giese officially inaugurated the German Pavilion at the Big 5 Construct Saudi. The trade fair provided an excellent platform for exchange, highlighting the strong importance of German solutions and technologies for the Saudi construction market.

As part of the Market Exploration Program the GESALO, GATE Alliance and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy organised a delegation trip to Riyadh and Jeddah. Driven by Vision 2030, Saudi Arabiaâs ambitious transformation continues to advance at aremarkable pace. As part of the Kingdomâs economic diversification strategy, the aviation sector has shown particularly strong growth in airport infrastructure, digitalisation and sustainability.
The trip started off in Riyadh with a series of high-level and insightful meetings. Visits to Riyadh Airports, Matarat Holding and Riyadh Air provided participants with valuable first-hand insights into Saudi Arabiaâs aviation strategy, ongoing projects and potential collaboration opportunities. The delegation then continued to Jeddah, where participants took part in a roundtable discussion at the Jeddah Chamber, facilitating open dialogue with local decision-makers and industry representatives. |

In December Deutsche Messe AG kicked off the Industrial Transformation - Saudi Arabia (ITSA) - the HANNOVER MESSE event in the Kingdom. More than 230 exhibitors, 8,000 square meters full of innovations, and a packed conference program made the first version of ITSA a success! How to Do Business in Saudi Arabia was the topic of a panel discussion moderated by the Delegate of German Industry, Dr. Dalia Samra-Rohte, during the ITSA Fair. With three representatives of German industry â Coperion, Liebherr, and Dorsch â the panel explored opportunities for applying artificial intelligence and automation in industry, as well as localization efforts and training modules. |

The GEFA Exportservice GmbH is organising a business trip, on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMLEH), in cooperation with the German-Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (GESALO) in Saudi Arabia and the Chamber of Commerce Abroad United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Food â Made in Germany e. V. association, to Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) and the UAE (Dubai) on the topic of food. The aim of the business trip is to initiate business contacts, exchange experiences, and strengthen ties with local companies and experts.
Saudi Arabia and the UAE are particularly attractive for German food exporters because both countries are heavily dependent on imports. Saudi Arabia imports around 80% of its food requirements, while the import quota for food in the UAE is around 90%.
